We catch up with Helen Richmond, Manager at Lakeland in Cheltenham to find out the community connection they've had as a local company and their collaboation with the Cheltenham BID (Business Improvement District) who recently nominated Lakeland Cheltenham 'Business of the Month'.

The “No Child left behind trail” was a great campaign to be involved with and also beneficial to our footfall at a time when it can trail off due to school holidays and warmer weather.

For a very small cost to the business we noticed from the simple event that we did in store daily it brought a younger new customer into Lakeland.

I also find it very useful when I attend BID Meetings and have the opportunity to speak to other Cheltenham town like minded retailers.

BID have been extremely supportive of our own Cheltenham Lakeland Facebook page ( i.e. shares & comments) When we tag them they have been very supportive.

Maria in the BID has also come up with helpful suggestions and ideas for marketing us.

It was great to attend the BID Annual Review last week and to be able to see all the great work that’s being done by the Bid. We are stronger when we all pull together and gives us information and support. I felt very proud when they played the marketing videos of what has been achieved by Cheltenham this year and also plans they have for the future.

The Cheltenham BID (Business Improvement District) started operating in August 2016. It delivers a range of projects that benefit businesses in a defined area. In Cheltenham, the BID zone covers the town centre, including the High Street, The Promenade, Montpellier and The Brewery Quarter.
