We’re humungeously THRILLED that Ben Miller, actor, comedian, scientist and totally brilliant author of ‘It’s not Rocket Science’ is going to be the compere for our fantastic ‘Innovation Rocks’, a brand new event we’re organising to help innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs secure vital venture capital or angel investment for their business.
Innovation Rocks, sponsored by BPE solicitors, will take place on Friday 10th June at Renishaw’s £20 million Innovation Centre at New Mills, Kingswood, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire GL12 8JR. Just a few miles off Junction 14 of the M5 north of Bristol. Tickets are now available via www.rockthecotswolds.com.
Ben, half of the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller, and who is currently starring in a brand new BBC sitcom ‘I want my wife back’, also presented the ITV programme It’s Not Rocket Science based on his book earlier this year. Ben Miller abandoned a PhD in physics to pursue his love of comedy and acting.
More recently, Ben returned to his first love of science publishing ‘It’s Not Rocket Science’, on which the ITV series celebrating science through thrilling big scale experiments, was based.
Since January entries have poured in from inventors and entrepreneurs across the Cotswolds, and shortlisting has now commenced. During May up to six local entrepreneurs will be notified that they have been shortlisted to pitch their business idea or invention to a panel of venture capitalists and private investors at Innovation Rocks on June 10th.
Finalists and delegates will also hear from keynote speaker, Tom Lawton, one of the UK’s most exciting inventors and star of Channel 4’s Fantastic Floating Home, and meet some Rock the Cotswolds’ rockers: unusual and exciting businesses trading successfully from their Cotswold base.
